Silent Supper: Dinner Party for the Dead

The veil thins The table is set The candles are lit Delicious smells waft in. Spooks are coming From near & far To join us for a Silent Supper Have you invited yours? To honour our departed during the thinning of the veil, we will gather together for a special potluck-style dinner party. Each participant is requested to bring a favourite dish of their dearly departed OR a comfort dish of their own, to share with the group (and the spirits). Silent Suppers are traditionally carried out in complete silence. We will invite stillness & quiet throughout the evening's event mixed with sharing stories of our loved ones. The dinner party will also include: - a community altar with photos & letters - candle lighting ceremony - refreshments, along with special non-alcoholic cocktail Although not required, you are invited to dress-up (think cocktail/dinner party attire). This is a special occasion, with your host Death Doula combining elements from traditional Day of the Dead and Samhain with a dash of gothic Victorian tossed in.
